Teacher Spotlight! – Andie

A great quote to kick-off our first teacher spotlight

“I love the students I teach. I learn from them by asking them a ton of questions about their bodies and lives. I want to help them as best I can to feel great every day. I am in love with this yoga and its healing powers! ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤”

Check out this Q&A we had with Andie, our teacher of the month!

How many years have you been practicing yoga?

9

What is your favorite yoga position & Why?

I don’t have a favorite. I don’t like favoritism. I just look at each on as a challenge and I do my best to welcome it in.

Where is the coolest place you have practiced yoga?

The Portsmouth Music Hall stage right here in Portsmouth! I competed for the first time , this past October 2016, in the New England Regional Yoga Asana Championship. 6 postures in 3 minutes. What a thrill!

Why did you start practicing yoga?

I won a month unlimited gift certificate from my daughter’s spaghetti dinner raffle! WHAT?!! 🙂 I gave it a try. The rest is history!

What is your favorite post-yoga snack

Electrolyte beverage, sweet potatoes, kombucha, and almonds.

What is your favorite color?

I trend towards black.

What is one Fun Fact about yourself?

I can sense energy and emotions from people. I feel as if I can often time read their minds by looking at them and how their bodies are speaking.

When I’m not teaching yoga I’m  ____________________________

Contemplating the next leg of my life. I’m an empty-nester now. Can I get a “HELL YEAH!?” I know yoga will be a part of it!
